This is based on the Alaska state license plate.

In terms of chronology, it was issued from around 1966 to 1967, and is a plate made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States purchasing Alaska from Russia in 1867.

During this centennial, the state motto "North to the future" was added.

By the way, the name "Alaska" comes from the Aleut language of the indigenous people, and is derived from the Aleut spelling "Alyeska," which means "great land."
